St. Paul's Cathedral St. Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul's Cathedral was designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire destroyed the previous St. Paul's in 1666. There have actually been four previous churches dedicated to St. Paul on this site. The first one was founded in AD604 and burned down.

It's 250 steps to the gallery on the inside base of the dome and then another 152 steps to the top of the dome for a total of 356 feet from the ground (108m). The interior of St. Paul's Cathedral is beautiful, but they won't let you take pictures. However, they have a great website with plenty of pictures at www.stpauls.co.uk
